FIVARS 2022, The Immersive Stories Festival is Back

This year, the “Festival of International Virtual and Augmented Reality Stories” or also popularly known as FIVARS will be held from 28^th October to 16^th November 2022.

What is FIVARS?

FIVARS is a festival that focuses on curating the best immersive story-driven content from around the world where the main objective is to nurture this platform for new narrative forms. It is also the first Canadian festival featuring many world premieres on the immersive and virtual reality content. You can read more here.

Is it Virtual or Physical Event?

It is a hybrid event where:

1. Online – From 28^th October to 16^th November 2022.
2. Toronto pop-up in person event – From 28^th October to 30^th October 2022

What We Can Expect from this Festival?

There will be a lot of exciting and wonderful programs related with VR & AR contents such as Ultra High Definition Stereoscopic 360 content, UHD Virtual Dome Experiences and live VR performances. There are also talks by artists and panels, world premieres, exclusives and sneak previews. Sounds exciting, rite?

If you cannot attend it physically, you can still enjoy the immersive video content in a 5.7K 3D stereoscopic (360-degree) virtual theatre via Web3D browser. There will also be live virtual performances, creator talks and networking on the private Discord server as well. Cool…

Some of the official fall selections 2022 for this festival are “David Attenborough’s First Life“, “Alex Honnold : The Soloist VR“, “Namuanki” from Kevin Mack, “Stories of Home“, “Iago: The Green Eyed Monster“, “We Should Meet in Air” and many more.

For your info, the final selections come from 13 countries which includes Australia, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Israel, India, North Africa, the United States and Canada.
