Recently, L.E.A.D IT Services, an education IT company in United Kingdom (UK), shared that they has seen high demand of the VR headsets booking from teachers in 2024.
The Background…
As most of us know, for schools to organize the traditional school trip, parents need to pay or fork out some amount of money or fees to cover the cost and expenses of it.
Sometimes, the amount might be big and significant depending on the location of the trips. And this make it a burden to some parents since they could not afford it especially post COVID. But at the same time, they do not want their kids to miss out the memorable experience and good moments with their teachers and friends.
So, what is the solution for this?
How It Works for L.E.A.D IT & VR Technology?
From the sharing by L.E.A.D IT company, the main purpose why the teachers book a lot of VR headsets in 2024 is to organize the virtual trip as the replacement for the traditional school trip.
As part of VR services, L.E.A.D IT offers schools, which is nearly 200 schools and trusts across the UK, the opportunity for them to book a set of virtual reality headsets. And it also comes together with the accompanying VR experience as well.
Besides, the company also will send in the technicians to come and help with the VR setup. Looks like it is really an End-to-End VR services, isn’t it?
What is the Feedback from Students?
From L.E.A.D IT resource and project manager, Sophie Jepson, the feedbacks from the students and pupils are extremely positive and encouraging after they experienced the virtual trip themselves. The students experienced the virtual tour to Pyramids of Egypt, streets of Rome and even going out to outer space.
Furthermore, according to Andrew Flowerdew, L.E.A.D IT technology strategist and innovation lead, the experience of putting on a VR headset could be transformative for many children. And it can significantly enhance the students learning and being enjoyable at the same time.
Andrew, who is previously a science teacher, also said that it interesting for him to see how children can discover elements of science at their early age using the VR headsets. Great insight!
Lastly…
We bet the teachers and parents must be really thankful and appreciate the work done by the L.E.A.D IT and their VR initiative and services. It looks like there is very bright future of VR in the education industry.
This must be really inspiring to VR community, isn’t it?
