“The Infinite” Will Let You Experience ISS in Houston

On this coming 20^th December 2021, you will have a chance to experience what it is like to live and work in the Earth orbit and ISS (International Space Station). The virtual ISS experience called “The Infinite” will be held at Sawyer Yards which is located just nearby downtown Houston in United States. As most of you already know, Houston is famous with NASA’s Mission Control Center, history and space exploration activities.

How the ISS Virtual Tour Works?

The Infinite will let you wander through the simulated ISS where it comprises of 6,000 square foot free roaming space. Interestingly, that size is equivalent to the actual size of International Space Station which is really impressive.

Once you are in, you will walk around the space wearing the VR headset where you can move inside and outside the virtual ISS. While you are in the virtual tour, you can also activate the floating hotspots around you. Upon activating it, the cinematic VR scene from the “Space Explorers: The ISS Experience” footage will appear.

The estimated duration for this experience is about 60 minutes and it is able to accommodate 150 people at a time.

Besides the free roaming VR experience, there is also quite a large area as well for exhibition. One of the exhibition is by world famed visual and sound Japanese artist, Ryoji Ikeda. Perhaps this image below can help you to visualize it better…

One of the great thing about this exhibition in Houston is that you can watch the exclusive, never-before-seen VR footage taken outside of the space station during the spacewalk. Just imagine to be able to see the wonderful planet Earth far below your feet. That’s pretty cool!
