Challenge & Problem: How to Feel Like Climbing Mount Everest?

Challenge and Solution for Everest

The Pain Point..

“Sometimes when people showing their pictures and success stories of climbing the Mount Everest, which is the highest mountain on earth, I feel so thrilled to follow suit. I want to see the beautiful mountain view and also the cloud carpet from the summit of the mountain.

Unfortunately, when reading about the risk of death and the growing list of people who died climbing it, the facts makes me scare to pursue it. Furthermore, the cost and expense to go there is absolutely high. Is there any way, that I can experience how it feels to be there on the top of Mount Everest?”

How VR Can Help You With This?

Well, this might not be a total solution but you might want to consider the option to go there virtually first. At least, while you build up the courage, stamina and fund required for the real expedition.

There are few ways how you can go there virtually:

1) Everest Immersive Video

With VR headset like Meta Quest 2, you can search for “Everest VR” immersive video from Jonathan Griffith Productions inside Meta Quest TV apps. The video is captured in 360-degree and in high definition (HD) format so you can move your head around to see the view around you in such details and clarity.

For your info, this “Everest VR – Journey to the Top of the World” documentary has three episodes to it. The duration of the first episode is 17 minutes, the second episode is 10 minutes and the last one is 14 minutes. Altogether, your full virtual journey to reach the summit will be 41 minutes.

The journey follows Sherpa Tenji and Jonathan Griffith starts from the European Alps until they reached the summit of Everest. During their journey, we can also witness the Himalayan avalanche, cross deep crevasses and climb up to the death zone.

2) At Top of Mount Everest in Wander

Another way to be virtually on top of Mount Everest is via Wander app. There are few spots in Wander where you can immediately be there. Just type “Everest” inside the search box and there will be few locations for you to “transport” there immediately.

As compared to the previous method, the scenery is static like you are freeze in time. Anyway, there are some places where you can move yourself a bit, forward and backward. But just a small area.

Below are some of the examples of the spots in Wander…
