How to Share Images, Pictures & Videos from Oculus Quest 2?

Now, you might already know how to take screenshots or record videos inside Oculus Quest 2. Next you might wonder how you can share those precious images and videos to your family and friends. In this article we will share with you the step-by-step on how you can do that.

There might be many ways how to do it. But in this article, we will focus on two approach which are:

  1. Option 1: Sharing via Messenger
  2. Option 2: Sharing via Email

Let’s start with the first approach…

Option 1: Sharing via Messenger

1) Find the Images, Pictures or Videos

First, you must find the images, pictures or videos from the “Sharing” tab. In case you forgot how to do this, you might want to recap in the “How to Take Screenshots or Screen Capture in Oculus Quest 2?” tutorial. Just go straight to section “Where is the Image Located?“.

2) Select Share

At the top right corner of your files, select the “Share” icon.

3) Select Messenger

You can see a pop-up with title “Share” appear in front of you. Currently, there are three methods on how you can share using this option. There are:

  1. Facebook News Feed
  2. Facebook Group
  3. Messenger

For this tutorial, we will select the “Messenger” button.

4) Select People and Send

Next, you click “Send” button beside the name of people that you intend to share the files with.

5) Notification Message Appears

You can immediately see a notification message appears at the bottom. The message is “Your photo is being sent to XYZ” (XYZ is your friend list name).

6) Click Done

You can see the button change from “Send” to “Sent“. Repeat the same step for other images, pictures and videos. Lastly, once you are finish, click on “Done” button.

Now, let’s look at another alternative how you can share your pictures, images and videos in Oculus Quest 2…

Option 2: Sharing via Email

1) Press Oculus Button

Inside your home environment, press the Oculus button on your right Oculus Touch Controller to open the Universal Menu.

2) Click Apps

From the Universal Menu, click on “Apps” button.

3) Select Browser

The Apps Dashboard will appear. At the top of it, select “Browser” menu.

4) Go to Email Browser

Now you can see the Oculus Browser appear in front of you. For this tutorial, we will use Gmail as the example. Next, go to your Gmail using the same way you use it in the normal browser in Desktop.

5) Click Attach Files

Compose the new email as usual. Then, click on “Attach Files” button in the New Message.

6) Allow Permissions

After that, you can see this pop-up appear. The name of the pop-up is “Allow Permissions“. It will ask you whether you want to allow Oculus Browser to access photos, media and files on your device. Since we intend to do that, click on the “Allow” button.

7) Choose Files

The list of files consisting your images, pictures and videos will appear straight away. Click on one of the files.

8) Click Select

Next, you can see the file you selected just now is inside the right pane of the window. It will provide you with some high level information of the file such as the file name, its size, dimensions and also when the file is created. Once you are sure that it is the correct file, then you click on the “Select” button.

9) Click Send

Repeat Step no. 7 and no. 8 for the other files as well. Once you are satisfy, click on the “Send” button.
