Sometimes while you are using your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset, you found out that your position is suddenly misalign in the virtual environment. This can happen when in the middle of using it, you take off the headset for a while and then put it back on. But this time you use it at different location. Maybe you move from your living room to your bedroom.
This can cause you to feel weird and discomfort. For example, suddenly you find yourself at the same height of the floor. It happens to me once, and I feel like a dwarf or a Hobbit.
If you encounter this kind of situation, then it is the time for you to reset your Guardian. In order for you to do that, then you need to find where the Guardian is located.
1) Press Oculus Button
First, you press on the Oculus Button that is located on your right Oculus Touch Controller.
2) Universal Menu Toolbar Appears
Next, you can immediately see a Toolbar will appear at the bottom like the picture below. The toolbar is also known as the “Universal Menu“.
3) Select Quick Settings
Then, you select the “Quick Settings” menu. It is located at the most left side of the Universal Menu. You can see the tooltip appears with its name.
4) Guardian Menu Appears
The “Quick Settings” dashboard will appear. Now, you can see the “Guardian” menu in the right box.
5) Select Guardian
Select “Guardian” in order to proceed with the process to reset it. A pop-up titled “Create Guardian Boundary” will appears. From there, you will be guided with the on-screen instructions to help you with the process.
That’s all for now. If you want to know more detail steps, perhaps you can read it from the Oculus Support page.
