If you’ve been taking screenshots, recording gameplay videos, or downloading files on your Meta Quest 3, you might be wondering — where does everything go?

Don’t worry, guys. Meta Quest 3 has several approaches that keeps all your media organized, but the folder locations can be confusing for new users.

In this step-by-step guide, we’ll show you exactly how to find photos, videos, screenshots, recordings and documents on your Meta Quest 3. Simple, fast, and beginner-friendly.

One of the quickest way to find your screenshots and recorded videos is via Gallery. Below is the steps how you can find them…

Step 1: Press and hold the Meta button on the right controller. Refer to the image below.

Step 2: The Universal Menu will appear. Select the Camera app.

Step 3: Your screenshots will appear in the Gallery.

Step 4: Choose “See all in Gallery” to view all your screenshots and recorded videos.

Step 5: You can also filter the type of media at the top right of the Gallery. At this moment, there are VideosImagesPanoramas and Spatial videos for you to select.

Notes: Besides going to the Camera icon, you can also access it via Library (most right in the Universal Menu) → All (left side menu) → Gallery (in main panel). Hope the image below can help you to better understand.

Method 2: Find in Files or File Manager

Another way to find the those files is via Files or File Manager app. All photos, videos, and downloaded files are stored inside the Quest’s File Manager app.

Here’s how to access and open the File Manager:

Step 1: Press the Meta button on your right controller.

Step 2: In the Universal Menu, select the Library icon.

Step 3: Open the Files icon. It is also known as File Manager.

Step 4: Once you’re inside, you’ll see folders of different categories. Some of the examples are Pictures, Oculus, Download, Recordings, Documents, Cloud Backups (if enabled) etc.

Below are some of the examples:

  • Oculus folder: Contains all screenshots and videos captured using Meta Button + Right Trigger or using the Camera App.
  • Recordings folder: Includes all clips generated from built-in recording tool, gameplay videos, voice-included recordings and passthrough recordings. Note: Quest 3 videos are usually saved in MP4 format for easy exporting.
  • Pictures folder: In here, you can check other folders such as Camera, AppName and Photos to find photos that are captured during in-game such as VRChat, Horizon Worlds etc.
  • Download folder: Anything you download using the in-headset browser goes here. It usually contains PDF files, ZIP/RAR archives, Downloaded images, Sideloading files, APKs (if any).

As additional, inside the File Manager, you can also manage your files such as move, delete and copy them.

Method 3: Use Meta Horizon App in Phone

You can use this method if you want to view your Quest 3 photos or videos on your phone. Below are the steps:

Step 2: Tap Menu (the one with hamburger icon).

Step 3: Under Horizon menu, tap on Gallery.

Step 4: Here you can download the images and videos to your phone. Furthermore, you can also share them directly to WhatsApp, TikTok and Instagram.
