We remember during our early childhood time, we are mesmerized by the glorious graphics from the “Myst” game in the early 90s. At that time, you play this game using CD-ROM in the computer. It is really a game that focus on the visual aspects and journey. You’ll not die in this game but keep wandering to solve the puzzle. Nearly three decades later, now, the game is being released in the VR version. Reading from the Oculus Quest website, the release date was on 11th December 2020.

What is Myst?
First release in 1993, this surrealistic, adventure game is created by Cyan World Inc. The game creators are Rand and Robyn Miller. There is also a lot of puzzle for you to solve on this island. During that time, it is a point and click games on the series of static images. It was so popular during that time due to the stunning and glorious graphics it has. Furthermore, since the game is about exploration, the details in the graphics really make us stick and being fully immerse in the game. So, no wonder it is one of the bestseller in PC gaming during that time.

How Myst feels like in VR?
It really is a dream come true to Myst fan. We want to feel how the experience looks like to be inside the game. This time, in the VR version of this game, to move around you’ll use the teleport concept. You mark the cursor on the ground to quickly go to the location. The hands also now can be use to control things for example to turn the door knob. In this VR version, they got special feature called puzzle randomization. Although you have solve the puzzle before in the original game, but this time the clues will come out differently so you need to solve it from scratch. Don’t worry so much since it is an optional feature ๐Ÿ˜‰

From the review on the internet, the VR version stay true to the original and it is very nostalgic for those who play them during the old days. Since it is based on the original Myst game, hopefully we can see the sequel of it as well in the near future.
