Here is the list of VR events in 2022. This consists of virtual reality expo, exhibitions or conferences held in 2022. The VR events listed here are fully dedicated to virtual reality and some of it has connections or related with AR (Augmented Reality), MR (Mixed Reality), Metaverse and Immersive Technology as well.

CES 2022

The “Consumer Electronics Show 2022” or popularly known as CES 2022 will be held from 5^th to 7^th January 2022 in Las Vegas. This year, the show is set to feature many exhibitors in two of the most compelling technology megatrends of the future which are intelligent automation and metaverse. During this tech event, you also can see the latest innovations in virtual reality and augmented reality and discover how immersive experiences are being used across industries, from health care to manufacturing to retail and everything in-between.

Digital Hollywood CES 2022

This event will be part of the CES 2022 and it will be held online and virtual on 7^th January 2022. Among the interesting agendas are “Leadership: The XR/AR/Mixed Reality Experience“, “XR/AR – Retail – Commerce – Consumer Experience” and “Immersive Media Leadership: XR/AR/VR“.

AUREA AWARD

The 4^th Annual AUREA Award event will be held from 21^st to 22^nd January 2022 by Europa-Park. For info, AUREA is the leading European conference in VR, AR, XR, MR, and immersive entertainment. This time, the event will combine physical, virtual and digital formats.

This event will be held from 23^rd to 25^th January 2022 at The Moscone Center West, San Francisco, California, United States. This event will focus on the XR hardware that will enable the metaverse. It is a place where researchers, engineers, investors, entrepreneurs, customers and suppliers can meet to create the future of augmented, virtual, and mixed reality.

Sundance Film Festival 2022

This event will be held from 20^th to 30^th January 2022 at Park City, Salt Lake City and also online. During this event, they have a program called “New Frontier” where they also create a virtual venue called “The Spaceship” that allows film lovers to attend the Festival and mingle around with their avatars. You can access The Spaceship remotely via computer or virtual-reality headset, or in person through equipment at The Craft. Interesting!

The XR Summit ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) will be held on 1^st February 2022 at Fira de Barcelona. The event will explore the latest in Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality business strategies, technologies and solutions.

FIVARS

The “Festival of International Virtual & Augmented Stories” or also known as FIVARS will run virtually from 21^st February to 28^th February 2022, with physical in-person pop-ups to be announced shortly. MWC Barcelona 2022

This popular event will be held from 28^th February to 3^rd March 2022 in Barcelona, Spain. It is the world’s most influential exhibition for the connectivity industry. Some of the agendas related with VR as well such as “What’s the Meta?”, “5G: Connecting Virtual & Reality” and “Tech Behind the Metaverse“.

IEEE VR 2022

The “IEEE Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces” or also known as IEEE VR 2022 will be held fully online from 12^th to 16^th March 2022. It is the premier international event for the presentation of research results in the broad areas of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (VR/AR/XR).

3D & Virtual Reality Expo (IVR)

This expo will be held from 16^th to 18^th March 2022 at Tokyo Big Sight, Japan. It is an exhibition for 3D/VR technologies and solutions for all industries. This event attracts professionals from image producing companies, amusement industries, broadcasting stations, public offices and manufacturing industries, to conduct lively business discussions with exhibitors.

ICVARS 2022

The 6^th International Conference on Virtual and Augmented Reality Simulations will be held from 25^th to 27^th March 2022 in Brisbane, Australia. Creative Experience or CxSF event will be held from 25^th to 27^th March 2022 at Santa Fe. “XR WEEK“, Germany’s biggest VR exhibition, will take place from 14^th to 16^th September 2022 at Haus der Wirtschaft, Stuttgart. XR WEEK will be the Tech Event for professional XR in Europe. ICHVR 2022

Venice Immersive 2022

This event is the Extended Reality section of the 79^th Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia that will take place from 31^st August to 10^th September 2022. This event’s objective is to acknowledge the growth of immersive media beyond the technologies of VR and to include all means of creative expression in XR – Extended Reality: 360° videos and XR works, including installations, live performances and virtual worlds.

Meta Connect 2022

This grand event and very much anticipated virtual event from Meta will happen on 11th October 2022. This event will explore the building of the metaverse and the future of AR and VR. Here, industry leaders will share the latest technologies and during the developer sessions, they will cover how to use them. The “Festival of International Virtual and Augmented Reality Stories” or also known as FIVARS will be held from 28^th October to 16^th November 2022 this year. This is a hybrid event where it runs online from 28^th October to 16^th November with a Toronto pop-up in person event from 28^th October 28 to 30^th October. The festival focuses on curating the best immersive story-driven content from around the world where the main objective is to nurture this platform for new narrative forms.
